Google Business Profile Additional Review — After Your Appeal Is Denied

Your reinstatement request came back Not Approved. That is painful — and it is not always the end. Google’s own help docs describe a next step: request an additional review of a denied request, and submit evidence that was not in the original appeal.

GBP Fixers helps businesses across the USA, UK & Canada prepare that second package the right way — especially trades and service-area businesses.

An additional review is not “hit submit again with the same PDF.” It is a separate chance — available only after a denial — to prove eligibility with new, stronger, matching evidence. If you resubmit the same pack, you often burn the only clean second shot you have.

What an “additional review” actually is

An additional review is not “hit submit again with the same PDF.”

It is a separate chance — available only after a denial — to prove eligibility with new, stronger, matching evidence. If you resubmit the same pack, you often burn the only clean second shot you have.

First: confirm your appeal status

Before you file anything else, screenshot and save:

  • Appeals Tool status (Submitted / Not Approved / Eligible / Can’t be appealed / Approved)
  • Any denial email wording
  • The moderation reason or policy link (if shown)
  • Exact business name, address, phone, and categories as they appear right now

If status already says Can’t be appealed, stop and read our guide: Google Business Profile “Can’t be appealed” — do not keep hammering the same form.

Fix the listing before you ask for another review

Google reviews the live profile, not just your story.

Common fixes before additional review:

Remove keyword stuffing from the business name

Correct primary category (especially locksmith, HVAC, moving, plumbing)

For true SABs: hide public address if customers do not visit; remove virtual offices / mailboxes

Tighten unrealistic service areas

Resolve obvious duplicates or merge confusion

Align website NAP, licences, and documents to the profile

Evidence that usually strengthens an additional review

Use documents where business name and address match the profile (Google’s own tip):

  • Official registration / formation docs
  • Business licence or trade licence (where required)
  • Tax certificates
  • Utility bills (electricity, phone, water, internet) tied to the business
  • Lease, mortgage, or other authorised-access proof when relevant
  • For SABs: vehicle branding, invoices, insurance, tools/equipment proof as appropriate
  • Clear photos that match what you claim (storefront vs mobile trade)

Write a short factual note: what was wrong, what you changed, and why the new evidence maps to the profile.

What not to do after a denial

Do not create a second listing “just in case”

Do not spam the same appeal daily

Do not edit the profile into chaos while review is pending

Do not hire random “guaranteed overnight” freelancers who rewrite your name with cities and keywords

Google Business Profile Additional Review — FAQ

Is additional review the same as filing a new appeal? +
No. It is a follow-up path after a denied reinstatement request, meant for additional evidence that was not in the first submission.
How many times can I request additional review? +
Treat it as a scarce second chance. Quality beats volume. If the tool closes or shows Can’t be appealed, the path changes.
My first appeal was denied in 24 hours — should I file immediately? +
Usually no. Fix the profile and assemble genuinely new matching evidence first. A rushed second filing is a common reason owners get stuck.
Do you help if I already DIY’d the additional review? +
Yes — if a path still exists. Book a free case review and we will tell you honestly if the case is still workable.
How much does recovery cost? +
See current flat fees on Pricing (Starter and Recovery Pro include a 30-day money-back guarantee on recovery plans as stated on that page).
