Dallas listings, the same state license board, and one profile for the metro
A Dallas Google Business Profile is a listing for a business in the City of Dallas, which publishes its own site at DallasCityHall.com. This is not the Houston page with the city name swapped. The license board is still statewide: the TDLR license search is the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation lookup for licenses that department issues. A Dallas contractor and a Houston contractor use that same search. The cities, the service-area towns, and the profile you are allowed to have are not the same.
Google's signup page says to create only one Business Profile for the metropolitan area you serve, and that the account may be suspended if Google finds multiple profiles for the same business in that area. For a Dallas company, that warning is about a second listing aimed at a neighboring city. Plano has its own municipal site. Irving and Arlington are separate cities in the same urban area. Naming them as service areas on one Dallas profile is different from opening a new profile for each city. Google's service-area editor takes up to 20 areas, entered as cities, postal codes, or other areas. It does not take a radius. Add Plano, Irving, or Arlington only if you actually work there.
If customers are not served at the Dallas address, hide it. Google's address help says the address is public unless you turn off "Show business address to customers," and that this option is for a service-area business. The representation guidelines also say a P.O. box or a remote mailbox is not an acceptable address, and that a virtual office is not allowed unless it is staffed during the stated hours.
This page is for a suspended or at-risk Dallas listing. The work is a case review and, when we can file, an appeal. See suspension recovery. Google decides. Call (855) 939-4111, Monday–Friday 8am–8pm EST.
