Video Verification
Google schedules a live video call to confirm your business location. A Google support agent appears on screen and asks you to walk around your business premises showing specific items. Failure means starting the process again — often with a longer wait.

Postcard Verification

Common GBP Verification Problems — and How We Fix Them
Video verification call failed
The most common cause: showing the wrong items in the wrong order, not having business signage visible, or not being at the correct address when the call happens. Each failed call typically extends your waiting period.
Postcard never arrived
Postcards go missing for several reasons: incorrect address on the listing, the postcard was discarded as junk mail, or the listing has a hidden address (SAB) and Google sent it to the account address instead.
Verification code not working
PIN codes expire after 30 days. If you receive a postcard but delay entering the PIN, or miskey it multiple times, the code becomes invalid and you must request a new verification.
Listing stuck in "Pending verification" for weeks
Some listings enter a manual review queue after verification is initiated — especially in high-scrutiny categories (locksmiths, HVAC, lawyers). The listing appears to be awaiting verification but no action has been taken by Google.
Verification passes but listing still not live
After successful verification, some listings undergo a secondary content review before going live. This is more common for new listings in high-fraud categories or listings with policy warnings in the account.
